GRAND MASTER DAVID LOVETT, 7th Degree Black Belt
President/Founder of Christian Taekwondo (CTA) Academy ®

Grand Master & Master Jani Lovett began their Taekwondo career with their two teenage children, Linda and Zachary in the year 1991. Members of the Lovett Family have developed posterity, self-discipline, and respect for their art.

Through hard work and perseverance, Grand Master Lovett received his 1st Degree Black Belt in September of 1994. At that time, Grand Master Lovett entered into the Instructor Trainee program. Grand Master Lovett began to teach classes while continuing his own training for two years.

In recognition of his dedication and commitment, Grand Master Lovett was voted Instructor of the year in June of 1996. In February of 1996, Grand Master Lovett received his 2nd degree Black Belt and persevered in his own training to shortly thereafter be awarded his 3rd Degree Black Belt in March of 1998.

Grand Master Lovett also teaches joint manipulation, knife defense, and cuffing procedures.

While teaching in his school, Grand Master Lovett continued his training and earned his 4th degree Black Belt in June of 2001, his 5th degree Black Belt in September of 2005, his 6th degree Black Belt in August of 2010, and achieved his 7th degree Black Belt in August of 2016.

Mr Lovett won 2001 California State Champion in Double Nunchuka, finishing #3 in the world. He was also appointed Assistant Regional Chief of Tournaments on June 1, 2001, and served in this capacity for the next 3 years. In 2004, he received the “Regional Appreciation Award”, which is awarded to one instructor per year by region.

In October of 1996 Grand Master Lovett and his family moved to Ventura, California, to open their own school. He resigned from the U.S.P.S. in March of 1997, after 12 faithful years. In May of 1997, the dream of “Lovetts’ Black Belt Academy” was finally realized. The Lovetts then opened a second school in Camarillo, California on May 1, 2001, and finally their 3rd school in Oxnard, California on October 15, 2001. Throughout the years, the Lovett family has succeeded in helping to create hundreds of Black Belts, ranging in age from 6 through 60.

In September of 2004, the Lovetts sold their schools and moved to Hawaii to be closer to their daughter who moved here in 2001, and to teach Wang Guk Taekwondo to further the Glory of the Lord. The Lovetts founded CTA ® on September 5th, 2005. The Christian Taekwondo Academy ® is an innovating curriculum incorporating Wang Guk Taekwondo and Christ centered teaching to kids and adults alike. The Lovetts will teach Biblical principles incorporating scripture, prayer, and teaching all in a safe, fun Martial Arts environment.

The Lovetts believe in teaching the concept of personal victory, perseverance, respect, loyalty, leadership, courage, self-control, honor, coordination and doing well in school.
