WHAT IS THE BASIC CTA PROGRAM?
The CTA ® Basic Program students are taught traditional Taekwondo.
A BREAKDOWN OF THE BASIC CTA ® PROGRAM..
The forms incorporate the basic kicks, blocks, strikes, and stances into a series of moves teaching the body muscle memory and how to move fluidly with each move working on the students memorization and concentration.
One-Step-Sparring consists of choreographed moves; teaching timing, distance and focus, working with other students in a controlled classroom environment.
Real Sparring teaches real fighting under CTA ® guidelines of point-sparring, free sparring.
Board breaks teaches evidence of power. Power is demonstrated through proper execution of technique. At the CTA ®, board break requirements are mandatory at the brown belt level for rank advancement where students must demonstrate the board break requirements at class, and subsequently, in testing.
Self-Defense training includes Pressure Point Control Tactics, nerve strikes, wrist locks, arm bars, joint manipulation, choking techniques, etc.
The basic program is designed for the student who isn’t really sure which program they want; it is the starting point for the aspring martial artist to discover his or her path to Black Belt.
